Find a therapist who fits your identity, language, and budget.
Answer a few questions and we'll route you to the vetted directories most likely to have a therapist for you. Your answers stay in your browser.
How we picked these directories
Every directory in this finder is community-vetted and meets at least one of three bars: founded by clinicians from the community it serves, used as the canonical reference by national mental health organizations, or run by a federally funded program with public oversight.
We don't take referral fees from any directory. We don't share your filters with anyone. The form runs in your browser, scores the directories against your inputs, and shows the best matches first.
Identity-affirming directories matter because therapy works better when the therapist understands your context. About half of Black adults stop therapy early, often citing therapist mismatch and bias. Spanish-speaking, queer-affirming, and Native-led care isn't a luxury — it's often the difference between treatment that works and treatment that retraumatizes.
In crisis right now?
Therapists are for ongoing care — not for active emergencies. If you're in immediate danger or having thoughts of suicide, please use a crisis line first.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a therapist directory?
No — MindHaven aggregates the best directories instead of running its own. You answer a few questions, and we point you to the directory most likely to have a therapist who fits.
Do you store my answers or zip code?
No. The form runs entirely in your browser. We don't send your zip, identities, or selections to our servers.
Why do identity-affirming directories matter?
About half of Black adults stop therapy early, often citing therapist mismatch. Identity-affirming directories pre-filter for therapists who already speak the cultural context, so you spend the first session healing instead of explaining.
What if I can't afford therapy?
Pick "Free" or "Sliding-scale" under Cost. We surface the Boris L. Henson Foundation, Open Path Collective ($40–$80), SAMHSA Treatment Locator, and the NAMI Helpline — all of which can help you get care without insurance.
What if I am in crisis right now?
Call or text 988 (the U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or go to the MindHaven Crisis Support page. Therapists are for ongoing care, not active emergencies.
Do these directories work outside the U.S.?
Most are U.S.-only. Inclusive Therapists and South Asian Therapists cover Canada, the U.K., and beyond. We label each directory by region.
